J.D. was born in Beaumont, Texas on February 6, 1976. He has lived in Texas all his life and is a graduate of Beaumont West Brook High School.  J.D. came to the HLA in 1995 to work at a local summer camp where he met the love of his life and best friend Kim.  J.D. and Kim have been married for twenty-one years.
They have an eleven-year-old son Cooper who they were blessed to adopt as a newborn.
J.D. is a Director at Chick-fil-A Highland Lakes here in Marble Falls. J.D. completed the Highland Lakes Leadership Academy with the Marble Falls Chamber of Commerce.
J.D. has formerly served as both Treasurer and Vice-President on the board of Camp Agape, a Christian bereavement camp for kids. 
He has been a devoted volunteer at Camp Agape’s summer camp as an Assistant Buddy and Co-Activities Director. Before becoming a partner at Lake Shores Church, J.D. served as a Deacon at his previous church. J.D. currently volunteers for the Faith Academy Athletics Department and with the youth group at Lake Shores Church.
