In 2009, Gene and Kaye Glaeser answered the call of God to plant a non-denominational church in Marble Falls, TX. Their vision was to start a church focused on Jesus, rather than on the many things that distract other churches from Him.
With help and support from Hill Country Bible Church in Austin, Lake Shores began. The church first met at Lakeside Pavilion, then moved to Marble Falls High School and then ultimately into its current location on Highway 281 in Marble Falls under Gene’s leadership.
Gene was a visionary, and a gifted preacher. Lake Shores Church grew quickly but never forgot its foundational mission.
“A church committed to helping the Highland Lakes Area build a relationship with God, build Godly relationships with family and friends, and helping others do the same.”
Gene coined the phrase “No Rules, Just Jesus!” Reminding us that Jesus alone can save us by his grace, and no list of manmade rules or good works will ever make us right with God.
Lake Shores Church will be eternally grateful for the leadership of Gene and Kaye.
In 2020, Gene stepped down from Lake Shores Church and the elders selected Jon Weems as its new Lead Minister. Jon has been in the area for over 20 years and is excited to continue to grow Lake Shores Church and develop disciples.
